Best Heat Pump Installers in Truro & Central Nova Scotia (2026)

Truro is the hub of Colchester County and a natural base for installers covering Central Nova Scotia — including the fast-growing East Hants communities of Elmsdale, Enfield and Lantz. The pool is smaller than Halifax, so a strong track record carries extra weight.

Here are the top-rated installers serving the Truro and Central NS area, ranked by their Google review data as of May 2026.

Compare current listings and the whole quote

This editorial guide explains how to choose. Its rating tables are a dated snapshot; use the linked regional directory for published profile details, then confirm actual service coverage with the company. Directory verification reviews business information and services, not workmanship or rebate approval.

Use the published installation-price examples and printable quote worksheet when comparing costs. Published starting prices and old rough budgets are not a current quote for your property. Check current program status before subtracting any incentive.

Key takeaways

• Two established companies — Smart Heat Pumps & Electrical and Wilsons Home Heating — dominate on review volume.
• A couple of smaller installers carry high ratings on fewer reviews.
• Rankings reflect Google reviews, not paid placement.

Reading the list

Smart Heat Pumps & Electrical (4.8 across 131 reviews) and Wilsons Home Heating (4.7 across 84) have by far the largest published review counts in the area — useful if you want a company with a long, public history. Davin Electrical HVACR and Polartech HVAC post higher or matching averages but on far fewer reviews, which simply means less public feedback to lean on. We've listed Truro Heating & Ventilation for completeness; its lower 3.0 average is a reminder to read the recent reviews and judge how a company handles problems before you decide.

How to choose in Central NS

• Confirm coverage. Colchester and East Hants are often served by the same crews, but check that your town is on their route.
• Get the scope in writing — models, electrical work, permit responsibility.
• Confirm the rebate path with Efficiency Nova Scotia; see the 2026 rebate guide.
• Compare two or three quotes. Use our quote-review checklist and watch for the red flags.
